Cardinal Heenan Sports College is pleased to announce the 2011 Ski trip to the hugely impressive Bulgarian resort of Bansko. This annual event has been extremely successful in introducing our boys to a new sporting activity and an environment which they may not otherwise experience. Under the expert guidance of qualified instructors, your son will make rapid and safe progress, whilst experiencing the wonderful environment of a mountain resort.

Bansko is now recognised as a serious ski destination on the world race circuit having recently hosted the Audi Alpine World Cup – putting it alongside such famous race venues as Val Gardena, St Moritz and Beaver Creek. This is a remarkably high resort rising to an impressive 2600m with its peak at over 2900m.

The resort is an intriguing mix of old and new. The original village of Bansko dates back to the 14th century, yet it sits perfectly alongside a modern ski station with a totally new lift system and very high grade accommodation.

The trip offers real value for money with a fantastic level of both skiing and hospitality. The slopes are tailored for all abilities and resort facilities are second to none. Resort accommodation and catering is of very high standard with the level of service exceeding expectation.

Our trip will take place during Easter 2011. (Exact dates TBC)
The price of £850 includes the following:

•   Return luxury coach travel from school to departure airport
•   Return flight to Bulgaria
•   6 nights half board 4* hotel accommodation (Hotel Gardenia)
•   Ski lessons (5 days x 5 hours per day)
•   Ski equipment hire for 5 days (skis, boots and poles)
•   5 day ski lift pass
•   Fully comprehensive ski travel insurance (no excess on medical claims)
•   In resort representative and 24 hour emergency service
•   24-hour emergency cover

The cost of the trip will be spread out over the next 10 months with the final balance due 12 weeks prior to departure.

Additional costs will include hire or purchase of ski clothing, evening entertainment costs and individual spending money., including lunch each day (to be taken on the slopes)

Please be advised that the Head teacher reserves the right to withdraw from the party any pupil whose behaviour in school is such that it constitutes a real threat to the safety and well being of the members of the party. This course of action will result in the loss of actual deposits paid.

If you would like your son to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity I ask that he return the ‘permission slip’, signed by yourself, together with deposit of £150 to me before March 20th 2010. Cheques should be made payable to Cardinal Heenan High School.
