Sixth Form Bursary
The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund was introduced in the 2011 to 2012 academic year. Its purpose is to provide financial support to help students overcome specific barriers to participation, so they can remain in education.
The 16-19 Bursary Fund is limited and is administered by the school and monies are granted at our discretion. We will prioritise allocation according to personal circumstances and household income.
There are 2 types of 16 to 19 bursaries:
Vulnerable Bursary
For students aged at least 16 and under 19 in one of the defined vulnerable groups below:
- In care
- Care leavers
- Income Support
- Universal Credit in place of Income Support
- Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payments in their own right
Students who meet this criteria will be guaranteed a bursary made payable termly.
Discretionary Bursary
For students who have a gross annual household income of below £20,000 or were in receipt of Free School Meals in Year 11. These students may be eligible for a contribution towards the cost of transport, meals, essential course equipment, resources and trips. Evidence of income required from a P60 or Tax Credits form (TC602)
