Numbers, Numbers Everywhere!

NSPCC Number Day

The school took part in NSPCC Number Day on Friday 1st February. This was the third year that we have put on a great selection of numeracy related activities for pupils and staff to take part in.   This takes place to raise money for the NSPCC as well as challenge our numeracy skills!   Activities returned such as; the form time number grid (the lucky number was number 9); how many sweets are in the jar?;  how long is a piece of string?;  the teacher number hunt. This year it was the English department who were lucky enough to have their ages estimated by pupils. Our numeracy committee ran the activities at break and lunch time and great fun was had by all. We had lots of winners that won prizes from Dominoes West Derby, Liverpool One Vouchers and of course the jar of sweets. A great amount of £235.70 was raised and this goes directly to the NSPCC. See our twitter feed for a rundown of the day.
