Liverpool Central Library Visit

Liverpool’s Central Library was the beautiful and apt venue for our KS3 Reading Ambassadors to take part in the launch event for Liverpool’s 2020 Year of Reading #LiverpoolReads.

Students listened to a keynote speech from Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson, who spoke passionately about the importance of reading in all our lives.

Our ambassadors’ favourite speaker was Tim Quinn of Marvel Comics - inspirational about his love of books and his belief that through reading we can ‘touch the moon’.    Other speakers included Councillor Barbara Murray and author Jude Lennon.

After lunch, there was just time to check out a book and pay  a quick visit to the prestigious Picton Reading Rooms.
It was a real treat to spend the afternoon focused on reading and how we can all benefit from it.  As usual, our boys were a credit to themselves and their school.
