Year 7 Cathedral Celebration

Year 7 Joined With Students From Across the City to Celebrate Being the Body of Christ
On Monday 11th June all students from Year 7 had the opportunity to join a celebration of Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, Liverpool, along with students from other schools across the city. 28 students from Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School led the music at the Mass, with soloists from Year 7 demonstrating their talent as they created an ambience of prayer and reflection. Our students were also part of those that led the readings and donated food to the collection for the Hope Street foodbank which all schools were asked to contribute to as part of the theme of being the Body of Christ. For some of our students it was their first experience of visiting the Cathedral and a wonderful opportunity to share in a witness of faith with their peers from across the city. The Mass was led by Bishop Tom Williams who complimented the choir and musicians on their talent and hard work. In his sermon, Bishop Tom spoke about how we are all different but we are all part of the same team and that being the Body of Christ means sharing our talents to improve the lives of those around us.
