Sixth Form Information for September 2018

A chance for prospective students to visit the sixth form, meet our staff and see what we have to offer

Due to the postponement of the Sixth Form Information Evening on the 8th March, we are instead going to be changing the interviews planned for the 23rd March with Subject Information Sessions. This will allow sixth form staff to discuss option choices with students before they have a formal interview.

The altered process for sixth form applications is outlined below:

Friday 23rd March: Sixth Form Subject Information Day

  1. Review Day Appointment with Form Tutor (at time arranged as part of online booking process).  Brief discussion regarding subject choices. Collect latest provisional options form.
  2. Sixth Form Subject Information – will be located in the Drama Green Room. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide students with subject specific information.
  3. Complete and submit updated options form.

Wednesday 18th April: Formal interviews.

Students will be allocated a time slot whereby they will meet a member of the senior sixth form pastoral team to discuss academic offer. Conditional offers will be made during this interview.

Wednesday 20th June: Sixth Form Preparation Morning.

Students will be invited to attend a morning where they will be provided with an insight into the subject that they have selected by attending four subject sessions. Students will also be advised on how best to prepare for the demands of A-Levels.

If you are not a current Cardinal Heenan student, you are welcome (and encouraged) to attend some or all of the days above.  Please telephone the school sixth form office on 0151 235 1477, or email the head of sixth form Mr Phipps at for more details.
