Art and Design

Art and Design Key Information

Examination Board: EDUQAS

Subject Specific Entry Requirements: Art GCSE Grade 5

Overview

All students will start a generic combined fine art, graphic communication and 3D course for the first project in the first year. During this time, candidates will explore all 3 disciplines developing techniques, practices, materials and critical studies of related artists, designers and sculptors, with an emphasis on the core ability to draw.

Only after assessing where their interests and skills lie will students then make an informed decision about whether they will branch into A-Level fine art, Graphics or 3 Dimensional study. All work completed at the beginning of the course will count for their chosen A-Level.

This course structure will enable candidates to maximise their potential and follow a very personalised creative pathway.
