SEND
We are committed to helping all our students explore their future options, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There is a wide range of support available to help SEND students and their families make informed choices about education, training, and employment pathways.
Below are some helpful resources for students and parents/carers:
-
National Careers Service – Support for people with a disability
Guidance on finding work, training, and support options. -
Preparing for Adulthood – www.preparingforadulthood.org.uk
Offers information about transitioning from school to adult life, including employment, independent living, and further education. -
Disability Rights UK – Into Apprenticeships – Download the guide
A useful resource for understanding how apprenticeships can work for young people with SEND, including access to support. -
Scope – Career Pathways Programme – Career support for young disabled people. Free programme for young disabled people aged 16–25 to get career advice and guidance.
We are currently working with all Year 9 to Year 13 SEND students to develop individual vocational profiles. These profiles help identify students' strengths, interests, and support needs, making it easier to match them with suitable career pathways and opportunities.
