Why Retake GCSE English and Mathematics?
GCSE Grade 4 passes in English language/literature and mathematics are the minimum requirements for most areas of employment and for accessing further and higher education. A GCSE Grade 4 in both subjects indicates a competence in essential skills for everyday life.
When will I sit the GCSE Retakes in English and Mathematics?
For students who sat GCSE English and mathematics in June of Year 11, there will be an opportunity to re-sit their examinations in November of the same year. If students are not successful in the November sitting, there is a further opportunity to re-sit in June of Year 12.
How is the Course Assessed?

Paper 1: Explorations in Creative Reading and Writing (1 hour 45 minutes) 50%

- One non-fiction text and one literary non-fiction text
